Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant I

Location: UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central, US:CO: Colorado Springs

Department: Rehab Unit Therapists

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $24.11 - $36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:
Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, treats patient population for therapy needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the therapist.
  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.


Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • CO State licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
