A Brief Overview
The Estimator uses computer technology and mathematical skill to prepare an estimation of the amount of material needed for the construction of a home in accordance with Company policies.

What you will do
  • Estimate the amount of labor needed for home construction according to company policy and local building code.
  • Assist estimators as needed with customer orders and materials lists.
  • Assist in trim and window take-offs as requested.
  • Provide assistance to builders as needed.
  • Review actual vs. estimated labor on completion of each project.
  • Work on sales/ hardware counter as assigned.
  • Control expenditures to conform to company budgetary requirements.
  • Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.

Education Qualifications
  • High school diploma


Experience Qualifications
  • General construction knowledge


Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials.
  • Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to operate networked computer systems and specialized software application programs and to instruct others in effective use of application software.
  • Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of measurements and basic math principles.
  • General Excel knowledge.
