Abstractor

Job Description:
Reviews clinical documentation from medical records and other sources, abstracts key clinical information from these sources, and accurately inputs the information into the appropriate patient record into Epicare. Abstractors may also perform other quality reviews on outgoing correspondence and other documentation. The abstractor may be responsible for the training of new or existing staff. The abstractor works under the direction of the Abstracting Supervisor. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with providers, co-workers and others. Work Experience: Minimum 1 year experience as a medical transcriptionist, CMA, or related position (such as medical data abstraction), with extensive working knowledge of medical terminology (including pharmacology & lab), anatomy, physiology, and electronic health records.
Education Qualifications:

Graduate of medical secretary, medical transcriptionist, licensed practical nurse, medical assistant or other healthcare related program.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

No certification/licensure required.

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, as well as internal equity among our team.
