Our client, Employment Center is seeking a Temporary Math Instructor to join their team. As a Math Instructor, you will be part of the Education Department team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills which will align successfully in the organization.

 

Job Title: Temporary Reading Instructor

Location: South Bronx

Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour

Schedule: 7:30AM-4:30 PM Mon-Fri

Duration: 1 month assignment

What’s the Job?

  • Assist and inspire participants in a supportive learning environment. 
  • Develop and enhance math curriculum materials, lesson plans, and activities that align with state educational standards and cater to participants' learning needs.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive math lessons, employing diverse teaching methodologies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
  • Help participants grasp fundamental math concepts, from basic arithmetic to advanced algebra, geometry, and more..
  • Maintain a positive and organized classroom environment, fostering respectful behavior, participation, and collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and participant performance, and communicate progress to program leadership and support services.
  • Work closely with fellow instructors, program staff, and support services to address participants' holistic educational and personal needs.

What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience in teaching math at various levels, with a strong foundation in algebra, geometry, and other core math subjects..
  • Strong understanding of reading assessment tools, instructional methodologies, and literacy development techniques.
  • Passion for supporting young adults in their math education and career development journey.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and willingness to integrate it into teaching practices.
