Shift: First Shift (5am-530pm Friday-Sunday); Full-time (36 hours plus 4 hour incentive).
Position Summary: Responsible for doing multiple setting ups per shift and machining weldments and block work of all sizes in a timely manner, while maintaining exceptional quality.
Responsibilities:
- Set-up and machine weldments per print efficiently and accurately;
- Complete any necessary inspection worksheets;
- Maintain little to no re-work or scrap;
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes;
- Keep work area clean and organized; and
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience / Skills:
- 1-3 year minimum experience as a machinist;
- Prior experience setting up and operating HAAS VMC’s and Mazak Lathes.
- High attention to detail and quality;
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints;
- Understand basic GD&T call-outs;
- Ability to accurately use standard machinist measuring tools;
- Ability to setup and run “one-off” parts to print efficiently and accurately;
- Must work well under pressure; and
- Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills.
Nonessential Skills and Experience:
- Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S):
- Understand the Company’s EH&S Policy and how it relates to this job;
- Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as company rules and policies that pertain to this job;
- Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures;
- Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures; and
- Attend required EH&S training.
