  • Floating Insite Chemist (haz waste technician) based out of the Camarillo or Valley area to help assist at our Insite programs. 
  • Territory spans from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles. Santa Barbara- X2 a week. Valley, Camarillo.
  • Emergency calls out of state (rare but occasional) 
  • Schedule comes out every week depending on customer needs.  
  • Inspections, prepping shipments, labeling, packing haz waste on customer sites. 
  • Start time 5-7AM, have to be OK w/ night shift, but average 6AM-2:30PM.   
  • $22-$26 DOE. 
  • 40 HR hazwoper preferred.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities


  Tasks
  • Make waste pickups at labs as needed.  • Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications. • Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are encountered. • Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance. • Inspect storage area for leaks or spills.  • Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations.  • Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.  • Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing.  • Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.  • Utilize CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste program.  • Assign proper waste codes to all materials that are designated for disposal.  • Maintain and manage waste profile data. • Evaluate specialty waste materials such as gas cylinders and potentially explosive compounds and determine disposal options.
