Pay Range : $30-$37/Hour
Our fortune 500 client one of the largest Computer Hardware -companies in Austin, TX is looking for Hardworking and motivated Memory Validation Lab Technician to join their innovative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hardware and software testing to identify functional issues in AMD server systems.
- Build and set up new platforms, including hardware and software installation.
- Track inventory and equipment status in the lab.
- Follow detailed instructions and maintain thorough notes on testing and results.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Complete assigned tests within expected timelines, multitasking under high-pressure situations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Computer Engineering/Technology or equivalent training and experience.
- Strong background in computer hardware, software, and PC architecture.
- Extensive familiarity with all Windows operating systems and preferred Linux experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in PC hardware and software validation; strong troubleshooting skills required.
- Technical expertise in PC hardware devices and motherboard architecture.
- Knowledge of PC architecture principles to troubleshoot hardware compatibility issues.
- Experience with the installation of Linux and Windows operating systems, including drivers.
- Experience flashing BIOS using ROM burner or utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics to locate voltage rails, signals, and components.
- Proficiency in reading and deciphering system registers.
- Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, or software to determine memory or HyperTransport frequency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on detail.
- Intermediate Excel skills required.
- Soldering experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualities:
- Familiarity with Python scripting.
- Eagerness to learn and grow skill set.
- Problem-solving mindset.
