Job Overview
Position Schedule: Full-Time
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager is responsible for leading a group of behavioral scientists. As a people leader is responsible for managing a highly engaged team and work with team members on their career progression through coaching and feedback. They work in collaboration with business stakeholders, ensuring delivery of quality work products. They work closely with the other teams in the Data & Insights area.
Essential Functions:
- Leading team members in achieving the department's stated objectives.
- Providing behavioral insights and solutions to large and often complex initiatives.
- Executing best in class behavioral science and insights within area of responsibility.
- Equip team members with the knowledge and skills to inform the prioritization of deliverables and trade off decisions to meet the needs of stakeholders
- Partnering with senior leaders to integrate behavioral science and insights into business decisions
- Influence business areas on how to effectively use behavioral science/insights to solve business issues
- Translate firmwide messaging to ensure functional understanding and change management
- Accountable the appropriate technical approach for the business need(s)
- Responsible for translating department strategy into execution and implementation
- Personnel decisions include performance reviews, hiring selection and necessary training
Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program. Skills/Requirements
Experience Required:
- 10+ years relevant prior experience required
- Experience in applying behavioral science
- 3-5 years of people leadership preferred
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- Master's Degree preferred
Business Acumen:
- Applies broad industry knowledge and commercial awareness to drive financial performance
Leadership:
- Manages one or more generally homogeneous groups; adapts department plans and priorities to meet short-term service and/or operational objectives
Problem Solving:
- Identifies and solves complex, operational, and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department
Impact:
- Guided by division group or division business plans; Impacts the division results by supporting and funding of projects, products, services and/or technologies; Makes decisions and mitigates situations that carry a high degree of risk to a division, including client service, firm culture, regulatory compliance with applicable employment laws and firm policy and monetary impact
Interpersonal Skills:
- Persuades managers and leaders/General Partners to take action and/or negotiates with external partners/vendors/customers
Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
