Job Summary: Assist with running the entertainment live shows behind the scenes, along with ushering the shows and keeping track of the crowds that attend. This position runs weekends only in Fall 2024 for the Fright Fest Season.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet and Greet guests as they enter and exit theaters.
  • Support and promote the guest first policy.
  • Assist guests with special seating needs, wheelchairs, and strollers.
  • Follow procedures for house opening, operating, and cleaning.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Support Entertainment Shows by recommending/discussing other shows available to guests.
  • Observe the guests during shows for safety and assistance.
  • Assist guests and coworkers in problem solving.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory and general maintenance of equipment.
  • Follow a rotating schedule of ushering shows and working backstage as a stagehand for shows.
  • Operate sound, lighting, and other theater equipment.
  • Assist with product installation and venue preparation.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Maintain a regular prompt attendance record.
  • Adhere to all grooming code standards.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of audio and lighting equipment.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of fly rails.
  • Must be able to work at heights exceeding 50ft.
  • Must have simple mechanical and electrical aptitude related to technical theater.
  • Must be able to change lamps/gels/batteries/microphones as needed.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude and working environment.
  • Must be able to handle stress.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions.
  • Must have strong work ethics and communication skills.
  • Must have good leadership skills.
  • Must be in good physical condition: be able to stand for 20+ minutes and walk at a fast pace.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be trustworthy and work well with other team members.
