**Cardiac monitor technicians, also known as telemetry technicians, monitor multiple patient's heart activity and interpret heart rhythms from a central monitoring center covering multiple acute care locations. They play a vital role in the lives of cardiac patients and are a critical member of the health care team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Summary:

Observes telemetry monitors continuously, recognizes and documents rhythm tracings and also continuously monitors Cerner Patient Observer “CPO,” recognizes patient movement and proactively alerts nurses and other caregivers to prevent adverse events including patient falls, patient elopement, patient safety, and visitor monitoring.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Required Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Preferred Education: Completion of dysrhythmia course.
  • Required Experience: Previous experience in health care environment such as CNA, EMT or other related areas. Comparable experience and skills also considered
