Marine Welder

QED Systems, an established marine engineering, planning, and ship modernization firm, is seeking a Shipboard Fitter / Welder combination welder

· Experienced in NAVSEA shipboard fitting and welding practices.

· Able to join metal components together through the process of welding or brazing in both shop and shipboard environments

· Select materials required to accomplish removals / installations / repairs / alterations, and cut / burn / grind surfaces (as directed).

· Able to comply with all applicable safety regulations, work under industrial repair conditions, work in confined spaces, and climb vertical/inclined ladders.

Job Requirements/skill sets:

Candidates must successfully demonstrate the skills and ability to certify to QED Weld Procedures for Steel (mandatory) and Aluminum (desired) base metals. The individual must also be able to read, interpret, and follow blue prints or technical drawings and understand associated welding symbols. Must be able to pass and obtain a NAVSEA certification process and x-ray weld test.

U.S. citizenship required. Must meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.

Education Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.
