FTE: Full Time, 0.8, 64.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $29.54 - $44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:
Performs diagnostic pulmonary function testing on patients with respiratory disorders

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patient for ordered testing. Interviews patient to explain testing procedures and monitors patient throughout procedures.
  • Performs and documents ordered testing. Evaluates test results for patient response, artifact, and quality control.
  • Communicates results to physician for interpretation. Sets up, tests, calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots pulmonary function test equipment.
  • Educates patient about respiratory disorders, treatment, and community resources.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). State licensure if required by law.
  • 1 year as respiratory therapist (reg).
  • PALS required within 6 months.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
