Sodexo - Seniors has a current Chef Manager opportunity at Carroll Lutheran Village located in Westminster, Maryland. This is a large upscale continuing care retirement community serving over 600 residents.  The Chef Manager will oversee the daily kitchen operations for our independent living residents and manage a staff of approximately 15 hourly employees.  Typical shift will be 10am-6pm with every other weekend rotation. Ability to motivate staff to achieve a high-level of customer satisfaction.  Previous senior living experience highly preferred.

 

The successful candidate will: 

 

  • oversee daily kitchen operations, to include meal preparations for both menu and buffet style dining; 
  • exhibit creativity with both culinary and food repurposing skills; 
  • handle food ordering and inventory;
  • perform functions that include direct supervision of hourly associates including employee development;
  • exceed Sodexo standards for Gold Checks and achieve successful regulatory inspections and audits.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • prior 2 years of food service experience, senior living environment a plus;
  • prior management experience, with excellent time management skills; 
  • strong culinary knowledge with a passion for "homestyle" cooking; 
  • excellent leadership, time management and communication skills; 
  • strong customer service skills to ensure our Sodexo CARES (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Enthusiasm and Service) behaviors are followed daily.
