POSITION TITLE

Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) Project Manager

Richmond, VA (hybrid)

    

YOUR ROLE

The Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) Project Manager is an integral part of the Corporate Governance team and will report directly to Senior Director Corporate Governance and Chief Sustainability Officer. You will assist with ESG regulation & activities for Genworth’s corporate compliance framework. You will have strong background in ESG data management, experience with corporate sustainability reporting and strong program management, organizational, and process optimization skills to support leadership governance and cross-functional collaboration.

What you will be doing

  • Manage sustainability data and systems needs including supporting annual reporting, quarterly progress updates and systems development
  • Support sustainability systems development, data management and reporting as well as governance and operations
  • Support the operationalization of the sustainability strategy through enhanced governance management, integrated program management support and holistic business updates
  • Support the Chief Sustainability Officer with advising the Sustainability policy of the company, membership in associations and cooperation with external consultants
  • Advise and provide support at Sustainability Committee meetings
  • Consult with the business to effectively design and streamline applicable processes within the organization
  • Assist with analyzing market and societal developments in Sustainability, compile professional information and propose new concepts and areas of action
  • Assist in monitoring and consolidating national and international Sustainability reports
  • Assist with adherence to all legal requirements, regulations and complete necessary training to keep informed on statutory requirements and updates
  • Assist with ESG materiality assessments and assist with Sustainability reports
  • Assist with audits of ESG related policies, programs and certificates
  • Conduct research and peer benchmarking to support strategic planning, goal/target setting to facilitate conversations with stakeholders
  • Identify emerging ESG trends and legislation and incorporate them into ESG strategy
  • Collaborate with internal professionals to create ESG content development ​

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Compliance, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management, Corporate Governance or Legal Operations
  • ESG reporting and disclosures with solid understanding of the role of ESG data
  • Highly organized and results-oriented with validated experience running cross-enterprise reporting processes
  • Expertise in building rapport across business units and corporate functions to influence process or policy changes. Understands business drivers and operational processes.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills working with Senior leaders
