Job Summary:

We are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Emergency Room for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What You Will Do In Your Role: 

  • You will be responsible for the administration of basic nursing procedures and or clerical duties involved with the care of hospital patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse RN.
  • You will be responsible for assisting with routine patient care assignments, working in controlled and/or uncontrolled patient care situations, assisting with/in established nursing care procedures, and assisting in therapeutic, rehabilitative, and preventive activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.* You will be responsible for assisting the RN with patient movement, clerical functions and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  • You will maintain in-hospital competency for performing 12-lead electrocardiogram and completes as ordered by physician.
  • You will maintain in-hospital competency for performing phlebotomy and completes as ordered by physician. 

What qualifications you will need: 

  • 1 year of EMT experience preferred.
  • Previous IV experience, or currently enrolled in a IV certification class required
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Texas Department of Health Certification: Emergency Medical Technician (Basic, Intermediate) required.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
