Purpose and Impact:

Plan, implement, and oversee all aspects of the Adult Educational programming for the CRS Pinellas with the refugee

Essential Functions:

  • Screen and determines final eligibility of potential clients for Adult Education services.
  • Responsible to complete intakes, and ESOL assessments.
  • Advises and participates in the development of each client's plan.
  • Makes determinations regarding educational and skills training.
  • Develops and submits vouchers for the enrollment in the ESOL training course.
  • Works with the refugee education programs for recommended language improvement activities for clients enrolled in the program.
  • Continue collaboration with other like-minded institutions including the School Board to maximize inclusiveness and outreach to all LSF Refugee communities.
  • Provides follow up monitoring and case management after ESOL enrollment.
  • Access needed services in support of client's plan.
  • Complete case notes narrative to provide information about activities and updates the educational plan.
  • Monitors case files for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Generates monthly program reports for the program manager.
  • Completes date entry forms for case opening and closure.
  • Submits all paperwork documenting goal accomplishments to the designated staff in a timely manner for data entry and billing purposes.
  • Attends all training meetings, seminars, etc.
  • Implements new rules and regulations as instructed by LSF and DCF.

Physical Requirements: 

Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work flexible and long hours. Able to travel to other counties. 

Education: 

High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree with emphasis on adult education and guidance counseling preferred. 

Experience: 

Must have two years of experience in case work management, counseling or related human services activities. 

Skills:

  • Must be a self-starter, who can work independently but able to seek out supervision and help when needed.
  • Requires traveling within the county area as specified in the contract.
  • Interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving, written and verbal communication.  
  • Good time management skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Must be able to work with a culturally diverse population.
  • Must be bilingual. Or learn to effectively work with telephonic and live interpreter in meeting clients' needs with linguistic supports. 
  • Knowledge of social services agencies and programs available in the community, client eligibility.
  • Effective interviewing and counseling techniques.
  • Must be able to successfully balance multiple activities, in support of program or departmental goals. Manage contacts with internal and external stakeholders to ensure flow of information and coordination of efforts.

Other:

Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristic and needs. 

Principal Accountabilities: 

  • Reports to the Program Manager.
  • Adheres to LSF policies and procedures.
  • Must be a team player with co-workers and social service agencies.
  • Provides concise, complete, and accurate reports.
