Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Completion of a Vocational/Technical program or an AMA approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree); Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Current Florida State License (CRT) Certified Respiratory Therapist.
  • American Heart Association BLS health care provider required.
  • ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving equipment.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:

  • You will be responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
  • You must be self-directed in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.
  • You will maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given.
  • You will set up and administer all routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures to patients of all ages.

HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital is a 215 bed acute care hospital. We are Joint Commission accredited. We provide emergency, diagnostic, medical and surgical services. We have women’s services that include labor and delivery, post-partum and nursery. We are an accredited advanced primary stroke center and chest pain center. We are a certified atrial fibrillation center and an accredited community cancer center. We are a LGBTQ healthcare equality index leader and are the women’s choice award for best emergency care for the 4th year in a row. We are a blue distinction center+ for maternity care and are accredited as a breast center with digital imaging and computer aided detection. We are a GYN robotic surgery training epicenter. We have a pelvic pain and incontinence center and an orthopedic center for join replacement and spine surgery. We are located in Pinellas County.
