Our client in the transportation industry is seeking a Technician I to join their team. As a Technician I, you will be part of the Transportation Systems Division supporting the assembly of TSD products. The ideal candidate will have mechanical ability, the ability to read and understand technical drawings, and the ability to use hand and power tools safely and correctly.

Job Title: Technician I

Location: Melville, NY

Pay Range: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Duration: 6 Weeks

What's the Job?

  • Perform basic mechanical assembly of TSD components and sub-assemblies according to drawings, bills of materials, procedures, check-sheets, and other work instructions.
  • Use various hand and power tools correctly and safely to assemble wire products, components and sub-assemblies.
  • Apply sealant and adhesive to products.
  • Under supervision, assist with refrigerant related tasks such as measuring, charging, and evacuating HVAC units.
  • Assist with testing of units.

What's Needed?

  • High School diploma or GED with 2 two years of work experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Mechanical ability, as demonstrated by the proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Applicable safety/operations training required to operate certain machinery and equipment (e.g., powered industrial truck and crane).
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, mechanical diagrams, electrical schematics and bills of materials.
  • Ability to judge the quality of sub-assemblies and assemblies produced compared to established standards, drawings and instruction.
