Staff Accountant

A very stable and industry leading company is seeking a staff accountant to join it's team on a temp to perm basis. This is a terrific opportunity to have a highly visible role within the accounting department and work closely with the controller. The controller will entrust the staff accountant with more responsibilities as each task is accomplished and learned. Responsibilities Include:
Work directly with the Controller in preparing all financial statements.
Assist in the month end close.
Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Report any variances.
Prepare Bank reconciliations.
Prepare journal entries
Assist Accounts Payable Clerk resolving difficult issues for payment.
Sage a plus
Strong excel skills required.
