GENERAL SUMMARY: Position supports the manufacturing process. As parts complete a required operation, the expeditor will deliver them to the next operation/department. Other duties include general plant support and general plant utility aid.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Verify parts by matching the part number stamped on the part with the paperwork that corresponds to the part.
Pick up and deliver parts and paperwork from one department to another as directed by the paperwork known as a part traveler.
Perform sandblast and shot blast of castings by operating sand and shot blast equipment.
Remove contents of department dumpsters to the main dumpster outdoors by use of fork lift.
Cleaning of castings will be required
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Follow written and verbal instructions, as well as work with limited supervision.
Work in a safe and conscientious manner; adhere to safety rules.
Ability to pay close attention to detail on all learned skill.
Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to co-workers and supervision.
Must be able to learn and understand the manufacturing process.
Ability to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
Ability to learn and operate a forklift.
Driving performance and record must meet minimum standards as established by applicable regulatory agencies, the company, and its insurance provider including:
Current and valid operator's license.
Minimum of two (2) years licensed driving experience.
At lest 21 years of age or older. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to read reports and use computer.
Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers.
Must be able to stand, operate machines; mobility between departments and to attend meetings of employees and managers.
Must be able to bend/stoop/kneel and regularly lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs to move and transport parts.
