Aircraft Technology, Inc., (ATI), a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed wing components found on both commercial and military platforms around the world.ROLE: The Spot Welder technician is responsible for preparing components used by the welding department for construction of welded sub-assemblies. Sets-up and aligns work pieces and operates resistance welding machine to join metal parts, according to work orders and blueprints. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Follow blueprints /work order, arrange metal pieces and fix them into position.
Spot weld all metals according to specifications, including different directions such as flat, horizontal and vertical
Safely set up and operate spot-welding machines (including portable) and other shop equipment.
Match work orders to components.
Process all required documentation.
Clock in and out of work orders.
Weld, grind and polish all metals according to component specifications.
Ensure quality throughout the production process.
Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 1 year of experience with welding preferred but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES:
Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Computer Skills: Not required
Mathematical Skills: Ability to use basic shop math. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Abilities: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May work with toxic or caustic chemicalsWORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
