As the nation’s premiere home leasing company, we own, lease and operate approximately 80,000 properties ensuring a move-in ready living space that provides a clean, safe, and functional home for our residents.The market teams include our Leasing and Property Management teams as well as our Rehab, Turns & Maintenance professionals.  Together, our talented teams create excellent resident experiences from the time the resident moves in to the home, throughout the duration of their lease and during their transition as they move out.  Our teams work hard to create and maintain high-quality homes and ensure potential residents are presented with a rental property they can’t refuse   We are seeking candidates with a drive to excel in our thriving organization.  We are looking for professionals who are ready to join our work-family, provide excellent service to internal and external customers and embrace our fast and friendly approach.  As the single-family home rental industry is quickly evolving, we are looking for dedicated learners who are passionate to serve our residents and maintain top-quality homes.  Apply today  We’re looking forward to getting to know you Job Summary The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing high-quality, cost-effective maintenance work within single family rental homes owned by the company, providing excellent customer service to residents, and follow all company operational and safety policies, processes, and procedures.  This is an important, resident-facing role at Invitation Homes with daily interaction with the company’s customers. This position is assigned a company vehicle and will travel between homes in a geographic region, delivering timely and professional maintenance service to residents. Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesPromptly and professionally complete maintenance service requests across multiple trade categories (e.g., electrical, plumbing, swimming pool, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, HVAC (minor), and appliances)   Provide excellent customer service and promote a quality living experience for all residentsComplete ProCare visits throughout resident's lease term to perform proactive maintenance and repairs in order to reduce future reactive maintenance service requestsProvide continuing education to residents regarding important maintenance topics such as resident maintenance responsibilities, resident bill backs, no-show charges, etc.Complete general property condition assessments (“GPCA”) at all property visits and submit alerts to property management for items that require immediate attentionReview and use Technician-specific reports/scorecards to identify opportunities for improvementPerform repairs to vacant properties while they are on-the-market or during the turn processProperly utilize and care for company-supplied tools, materials, and vehiclesPerform other duties as assignedEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalentMinimum one year of previous experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance or related experience is requiredSkills/Specialized KnowledgeBroad knowledge of residential construction and mechanical systems and ability to perform general residential maintenance workKnowledge and experience making repairs in the following: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, HVAC (minor) and appliancesExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others and defuse situations involving angry or difficult peopleStrong organizational and time-management skills; ability to set, manage and consistently meet goals and deadlinesAbility to read, write and understand English proficiently, multi-lingual a plusAbility to use mobile devices (i.e. iPad and/or iPhone) and various mobile applicationsProfessional verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with a diverse workforceAbility to perform basic mathematical functionsAbility to make quick and effective decisions and analyze and resolve problemsAbility to work in a fast- paced, ever changing environment;
