Sr. AccountantJob Summary: Responsible for accounting, planning, reporting, and analysis of assigned business activity. Completes GAAP compliant accounting and controls for assigned areas, provides support to business partners in budget development and management, and completes financial processes and projects. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Identify trends and advise leadership on recommended action or controls for implementation. Monitor budget, and complete internal audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and controls.
Optimize department-wide processes, identify improvements, and drive the development, design and implementation of changes, communicating with leadership and key stakeholders throughout the process.
Prepare, review and process journal entries as required to accurately reflect financial activities for a given period. Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP accounting principles and act as key resource for external audits.
Consolidate monthly reportsRun month end close general ledger sub-ledger balancing and allocation processesPrepare and transfer financial data files and reconcile in parent company general ledgerDownload AR & AP Report and prepare post closing entriesPrepare account analysis and supporting financial schedulesComplete and review monthly reconciliations, validating that all balances are supported in accordance with established Accounting practices. Communicate any deviations from policy to management, and propose adjusted journal entries as needed.
Complete J-Sox testing for sister companiesLead on-boarding of new employees and support the continuous development of Accounting team members.
Support Divisional and Corporate Finance goals, completing projects as assigned. Job Skills & Abilities:Strong analytical and Excel skillsHigh level of attention to detail and accuracy of workExcellent organization skills with ability to prioritize and multi-taskThorough understanding of industry best practices and regulations within the accounting fieldAbility to prepare, process, and maintain complex records and reportsExcellent communication skills; Ability to follow complex oral and written instructionsAbility to drive teamwork, and work well with all levels of employeesDemonstrated professionalism Education and
