ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSRecord daily time sheets and other job required information. Notify supervisor of product, machine, equipment, or programming problems and discrepancies.Operate CNC machines by entering commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from database; adjust and edit programs when necessary; works from drawings, blueprints, specifications, and written and verbal instructions. Will be responsible for programming your own work using Gibbs Cam or Surfcam.Review setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished product. Responsible for maintaining proper cutting tools; changes cutting tools and location of components during machining process as specified in setup instructions. Observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as damaged cutting tools. Design and build fixtures to hold components; attach fixture to machine. Use precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, height indicators, calipers, gauge blocks, and other like instruments. Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, EDM, boring machines, radial drill presses, band saws, and grinders. Use blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as feeds, speeds, etc.Assemble and disassemble molds; check mold for parting line fit and damage. Grind, file, and sand parts to fit components for assembly and to smooth and finish cavities. Operate overhead crane to lift, move, and position loads such as equipment, components, and solid or bulk materials. Use forklift, pulleys, and other lift equipment as necessary to move parts and materials. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. Exercise proper care and safety in the use of power tools, equipment and materials. Job RequirementsADDITIONAL SKILLS OR CREDENTIALS:• One to two years of relevant work experience preferred• Skilled at staying organized, multitasking, and planning workload• Great communication skills• Experience working for a manufacturer of elastomeric materials (preferred) Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to position or move, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time, up to and exceeding 8 hours.
