Beauty Writer

Seeking a creative, driven and organized Beauty Writer/Beauty Content Creator to join clients Beauty team. This role will be responsible for creating engaging, informative, and on-trend content related to the professional beauty industry, regularly partnering with cross-functional teams to bring beauty content to life across multiple platforms supporting company initiatives. You’ll have the opportunity to share your expertise, educate our audience, and contribute to the growth and awareness of the brand.
This is a remote position. You must be willing to work East Coast hours.
Responsibilities:

Pitch, research and write compelling stories relevant to the professional beauty industry, ranging from evergreen articles to timely features to trend dissections across beauty, wellness and culture. This will also require photo research, expert outreach, art requests and inputting edits from editor.
Write editorial content supporting SalonCentric’s monthly community and promotional priorities.
Edit and proofread stories daily from start to finish including SEO optimization and uplifting diverse model imagery.
Conduct thorough fact-checking, proofreading, and editing to maintain high editorial standards, accuracy, and diversity/representation in image assets and experts featured.
Implement SEO best practices to optimize content for search engines and maximize organic traffic.
Regularly update digital content for freshness, relevancy and accuracy.
Participate in brainstorms for editorial tentpoles, including digital magazines, packages and DEIB initiatives.
Create and capture content on-site at national/regional trade shows and events.
Perform monthly analytics review of content, and turn reports into actionable next steps.
Build content in proprietary content management system.
Assist with ad hoc administrative and editorial duties.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure content alignment of brand voice and objectives.
Keep up-to-date and stay in close communication with LUSA Legal regarding FTC content guidelines.

Requirements:

Passion for Beauty: Interest in and knowledge of the professional beauty space.
Exceptional Writing Skills: Proficiency in crafting engaging, concise, and grammatically flawless content for digital and social platforms.
Research Abilities: Strong research skills to gather information from credible sources and interview subjects, and distill topics into digestible, relevant content.
SEO Knowledge: Understanding of SEO principles and experience with keyword research, optimization, and analytics tools.
Creativity: Ability to generate innovative ideas, angles, and approaches to differentiate our content in a crowded beauty landscape.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to last-minute changes in schedules and planning
Collaborative Spirit: Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a demanding environment.

Only candidates with experience in the Beauty industry and have a Beauty Portfolio will be considered.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $30.44 to $33.82 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
