RESPONSIBILITIESThe Mid-Level Electrician repairs, tests, and maintains electrical equipment, machinery, and systems such as generators, alternators, motors, and intercommunication systems, makes inspection rounds of electrical equipment and maintains records and schedules of tasks and inspections.The Mid-Level Electrician supports watercraft repair and modernization efforts through the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment and power generation, transmission, and storage systems. Responsibilities include:
Disassembly of electrical systems and equipment to diagnose source of trouble
Dismantling or partly dismantling electrical and electronic systems and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools
Repair or replacement of broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock, ordering the production of a replacement part, or sending the equipment to an external shop for major repairs.
Experience in drafting written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from electrical shops
Reassembling electrical systems and making all necessary adjustments for operation.
