Our OEM licensed PMAs and Test and Computation PMAs offer our customers viable solutions in the reduction of operational costs.Role - Buyer-ExpediterPerforms a variety of activities related to the procurement of products, inventory management and logistics in accordance with purchasing regulations and procedures. These activities include purchase order administration, open order book management, freight selection, planning models, cost negotiation and communication with internal and external contacts. This position requires initiative, independent judgment and excellent written and verbal communication skills.Responsibilities -
Administers purchase orders from order placement through receipt.
Identification and selection of cost effective logistics providers.
Clear and effective communication with both internal and external contacts.
Recommends and creates material planning models.
Processes unique purchasing transactions according to company policy and AISO or ISO standards, industry specifications, and government regulations.
Identifies and selects strategic suppliers to procure products, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery date.
In some instances the Buyer will be responsible for the oversite of customs requirements
Works with Product Manager to optimize sales/achieve sales forecast, sales order fill rates, vendor performance & inventory turns.
KPI's: Product Line Sales to Forecast, Sales Order Fill Rates, Inventory Turns
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with vendors and internal personnel.
Logistics planning and freight cost reduction
Knowledge & Skills Required -
Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
Knowledge of materials, products, associated with the aerospace industry and the industrial seal industry.
Superior skill in both verbal and written communication
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Must be Detail oriented
Experience with ERP or MRP systems or purchasing software
Above average Microsoft office skills
Experience & Education Required - Bachelor's degree in related field and one year of buying experience; OR, Five years of buying experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.Physical Demands/Enviornmental Factors of the Position - Ability to sit and work at a computer most of the day in an office environmentCompensation range is $25 - $27 per hour.
