Summary:Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc. | Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose malfunctions | Adjusts, cleans and lubricates parts of mechanical devices as necessary | Requisitions replacement parts and equipment | Oversees contractors at supervisory/management level.Major Position ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties:
Maintains manufacturing equipment including conveyors, belts, engines, pumps, fans, etc. using hand and power tools.
Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment, as necessary.
Determines and performs required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
May also conduct periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage.

Basic QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience
OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education &/or Experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Calibration.
Mechanical Troubleshooting.
Preventive Maintenance.
Reading Blueprints/Diagrams.
Safety Inspections.
Safety Policies and Procedures.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Spare Parts Management.
Equipment Repairs.
Mechanical Maintenance.
Mechanical Systems.
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Technical Training.
Physical Demands:
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
This position is Safety Sensitive.
Other job-specific working conditions: Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
