The SVP of Market Research will lead the market research function within the marketing department, driving insights that inform brand strategy, positioning, and customer understanding. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that research findings align with business objectives and enhance the company's competitive advantage. This HYBRID role is located in New York, NY.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Develop and implement the market research strategy to support the company’s marketing goals and objectives. –
Insight Development: Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to provide actionable insights that inform brand positioning and marketing strategies. –
Brand Studies: Oversee the design and execution of brand studies to evaluate brand health, perception, and equity. –
Persona Development: Lead efforts to create detailed customer personas based on qualitative and quantitative research, ensuring alignment with target market segments. –
Data Analysis: Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to interpret complex data sets, delivering insights that drive decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, sales, and marketing teams to ensure research findings are integrated into broader business strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement:** Present findings and insights to senior leadership and other stakeholders, translating research outcomes into strategic recommendations.
Budget Management:** Oversee the market research budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for research initiatives.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Proven experience in market research, with a strong background in quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
Prior experience in a leadership role within a marketing or research function.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from complex data.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying research findings to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team while collaborating across departments. - Familiarity with market research tools and software.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, social sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or similar) is preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $119,000 and $221,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
