Ameritas is seeking Data Specialists to review, analyze and edit data through application of "Best Practices" for all dental and eye care claims. Enter data into the claims system. Identify insureds, claimants, and providers.

What you do

Enter data for all claims in accordance with the departmental accuracy and responsiveness standards using the claims/image system and sub-systems.
Enter and update claimant information to system ensuring accuracy and avoiding duplication. Correctly identify students or other eligible dependents.
Review insured's address and update when appropriate.
Review provider address, tax number and National Provider Identifier information and refer for updates when appropriate.
Enter all dental and eye care procedures on claim form using the appropriate procedure code.
Systematically review, separate, and process all claims faxed directly into the image system. This requires integration of the fax image and data entry processing systems.
Index imaged documentation by attaching to the correct historic claim via the claims system.
Work the front desk, either as a primary, back-up, or as part of a rotation with other associates.
Back-up the Group Support Specialist in San Antonio as directed by management.
Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

High school diploma/GED required.
0-2 years of related experience, previous experience in data entry is preferred.
Proficient on personal computer and keyboarding skills.
Interpret written information and transcribe accurately and efficiently.
Ability to work independently.
Must possess good grammar in speaking and writing; should have good verbal skills in formal and informal business settings, and be able to write clearly.
Ability to learn, navigate and maintain knowledge of the claims/image system and electronic manual.
Ability to quickly adapt to new procedures and job functions derived from changes in laws and business relationships.
Ability to work periods of overtime as required based upon business need.
