The expectation of the employee will be to demonstrate an on-going proven performance in quality, throughput, attendance, punctuality, accuracy, good housekeeping skills and shop safety cultureESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Machine parts to print and within budget using shop equipment
TOOLS REQUIRED:Has own basic tools such as test indicator, travel indicator, calipers, edge finder, dead blow hammer, scientific calculator, 123 blocks, combination square, machinist handbook, etc...

This person needs to be driven towards continual improvement. Can also mentor lower-level peers as needed.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions, regarding daily functions, safety rules, regulations, and possible hazardous conditions.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Has solid print reading skills and a strong knowledge of GD&T (i.e. positional tolerance, mmc, feature control frames, etc..).
Has ability to set up and run complex jobs with little or no supervision on a variety of shop equipment.
Has a solid working knowledge of speeds and feeds, tools/insert identification, appropriate use of cutting tools. Completely capable of establishing own speeds/feeds, depths of cut and adjusting them accordingly to maximize throughput.
Thorough understanding of shop math (I.e. Calculate speeds/feeds, Pythagorean theorem, geometry, right angle trigonometry)
Basic upkeep and preventative maintenance of the machine as required.
Capable of overhead crane operations and rigging.
Strong understanding of G and M codes. Can proofread, manipulate and edit programs as needed. Can hand write a moderately complex geometry part at the control using a print and a calculator.
Appropriate care and use of most shop measuring equipment. Can independently inspect parts to print.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:5 years minimum experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands for this position require continual standing, walking and using fine motor skills for the operation of tools and machinery.
Ability to lift, carry 60lbs. May require some lifting or assistance with heavy equipment. Occasionally requires t twisting, turning, bending, climbing, and walking over uneven surfaces.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is performed inside a shop in which machines are continually running generating varying degrees of noise.
Work may involve use of chemicals, coolants, greases, solvents, petroleum and vapors and fumes.
Proper PPE will be provided as necessary.
