Dover Precision Components is part of Dover Corporation's Fluids segment.The quality Control Technician plans and supports activities to promote Waukesha Bearings quality system to ensure manufacturing processes, inspection methods and quality documentation meets or exceeds ISO, safety, and customer requirements.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities of this position are: Utilize standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation of materials and in-process and finished products. Create inspection procedures and develop forms and instructions for recording and reporting quality data. Establishes and uses programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing/measurement equipment. Works with Team Leaders and machine operators on all shifts to provide guidance and instruction on proper inspection and reporting procedures Perform inspection on in process and finished products to verify critical part features and tolerances. Investigate deviations from standards and completes MRR's and CAR's as necessary. Provide leadership on in-process and finished products to investigate and analyze causes of scrap, rework and warranty work to determine root cause. Work with manufacturing engineers to modify and continuously improve processes to enhance quality, stabilize processes and/or reduce costs. Maintains quality records and documentation. Produce reports showing cost of quality or other metrics as required. Analyze causes of scrap, rework and warranty work; develop/and assist implementation of modifications of processes and procedures to improve quality and/or meet quality standards at lower costs. Review materials, components or products returned under warranty claims. Analyze reason(s) for failure and advise customer of action to be taken. Estimate costing of repairs as needed for sales orders. Visit customer locations as necessary to gain a better understanding of customer requirements and procedures. May visit customer locations as required to check setups, alignments, etc. of company products. Advise Plant Manager of quality problems or concerns.

Ability to read and interpret complex manufacturing drawings. Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances. Extensive experience in use and application of inspection, testing and measuring equipment. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to clearly define problems; collect data; and draw valid conclusions. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Power-Point. Ability to effectively present information to customers, suppliers, management and employees. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO: 14000 requirements and procedures. Self-directed individual capable of performing a variety of tasks and foster an environment that supports quality and productivity.
Education and/or ExperienceJob position requires an associate degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years' experience in quality control functions, to become familiar with products and quality control procedures.Language SkillsAbility to respond to common inquiries.Mathematical SkillsMust possess basic analytical abilities.Reasoning AbilityThe qualified candidate must be able to troubleshoot and resolve various issues within the company.
