DM3D Technology offers product development, runs production parts and builds customized production ready equipment for its customers. Summary: The successful candidate will provide support and continual improvement direction for the Direct Metal Deposition (DMD) process (a Laser DED process) at DM3D’s facility in Auburn Hills.
Responsibilities:
1. Operation of Robot or CNC based DMD systems (laser DED) involving fixtures, alignment, set up and part programming on the machine to process customer and/or test parts as per job instructions
2. Provide shop floor personnel with manufacturing/troubleshooting assistance and expertise through regular contact with supervision
3. CAD/CAM design and toolpathing for in-house jobs.
4. Drive improvement initiatives within the department to increase process and work efficiency
5. Interface with Supervisors, Operators and Customers to resolve technical problems
6. Arrange demonstrations of DMD systems and applications capabilities, for customer visits
7. DMD system installation, customer training and field support as needed
8. Assist in R&D programs related to process development area
9. Assist with DM3D's Quality systems
10. Any other relevant task as directed by the supervisor
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Science in engineering (Mechanical/ Materials/ Electrical systems and controls)
2. Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
3. Industry experience
4. Proficiency with MS office
5. Must be field or "hands on" oriented and must have ability to work without supervision
Desired Qualifications:
1. Masters of Science in engineering/PhD (Mechanical/ Materials/ Electrical systems and controls)
2. Working experience with DED process / laser cladding / laser welding on CNC or Robot platform
3. Experience with solid modeling, thermomechanical simulation software, statistical tools is desirable
4. Ability to travel domestically (10%)
5. Excellent communication skills
