Compensation: $22-26/hr
OVERVIEW
This client is an industry-leading biotechnology company known for leading the way in developing new therapeutic advancements. In this role you’ll support the Quality Control laboratories by performing housekeeping tasks and other support functions, with an emphasis on filing, cataloging, and containerizing GMP records for short and long term storage.
Other duties may include:
Clean and properly store lab glassware, utensils, and other analytical tools
Receive, log inventory, label and stock lab reagents
Housekeeping such as cleaning benchtops, shelves, cabinets on routine basis
Basic laboratory tasks such as daily balance checks, pH meter calibrations, etc
RESPONSIBILITIES
File all completed laboratory records according to the appropriate filing system to ensure that all records are secure, immediately retrievable, and orderly.
Daily, ensure that all laboratory glassware and utensils are cleaned and stored appropriately to ensure the analysts have the tools needed to perform analyses.
Clean benchtops, counters, cabinets, and floors on a routine basis to ensure a safe working space, safe and compliant storage of all tools, reagents, consumables and maintain inventory levels by notifying the supervisor or chemists of low levels for ordering.
As needed, assist chemists with basic laboratory assignments.
Complete work orders for routine cleaning, sanitizing, and/or calibrating of laboratory equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Some laboratory experience is preferred.
Ability to manage time to complete tasks.
Some chemistry or related science coursework is preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work based on department needs and compliance requirements.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, ratios, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and statistical process control.
Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Perform conversions from English to Metric units and back.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk and hear; reach with hands and arms; and smell.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
