The Division includes a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, advance practice nurses, dieticians and social worker. Expertise in IBD, Pediatric Hepatology, intestinal rehabilitation, nutrition disorders, a comprehensive aerodigestive program and advanced biliary endoscopy are among other well-developed programs fully supported by a multi-specialty, cohesive team approach. There is a long-standing clinical research program that now includes three research coordinators.Cohen Children’s Medical Center opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area’s only hospital designed exclusively for children. Today, it is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region, with over 750,000 visits annually and serving 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. It is the tertiary pediatric medical center of the Northwell Health System and the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island.
