DescriptionProactively build quality into the process by understanding the voice of the customer and translating those requirement into document information. Qualifying new and changes to existing, manufacturing processes. Drive continuous improvement by facilitating interdepartmental problem solving throughout the business.Essential Duties:
Interpret and effectively communicate customer requirements to applicable parties during the quotation process.
Utilizing customers' requirements create PFMEA and associated control plans.
Create new and update existing master production work instructions.
In response to confirmed customer complaints, issue a Return material authorization (RMA)
Conduct risk assessments for internal/external failures.
Construct the bracketing rational using data to support internal and external failures.
Develop rework plans.
Generate and approve applicable deviations and waivers.
Qualify new and changes to existing manufacturing process (PPAP)
Investigate and provide disposition for potential external failures (customer complaints and warranty claims)
Generate new and update existing Standard Operating Procedures.
Assist with external audits (customer or regulatory).
Facilitate interdepartmental root cause analysis.
Provide leadership to the Columbus quality team in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
All other duties assigned by Manager

RequirementsEducation/Certification Requirements:
S. degree in Engineering or Science related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Six Sigma Greenbelt and/or Lean manufacturing certifications preferred.

Experience Requirements:
Background in business management systems, such as ISO9001 or IATF16949.
5+ years' experience in plastic manufacturing desired, injection molding preferred.
Supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in a Quality Assurance department.
Experience with customer relationship building and maintenance, use of customer portals,
DelmiaWorks experience preferred.

Skill Requirements:
Ability to work independently, and lead team projects.
Knowledge of QC measurement tools, GD&T, CMM layouts, capability studies.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation skills.
Strong acumen to set and meet deadlines.
Good problem solving skills, self-starter, highly motivated.

Physical Requirements:
This role is a mix of time in the office and time on the production floor
May be required to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
