Pay Rate: $22-$27/hour DOE
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8p-430a (flexible on start time, overnight only)
Responsibilities
• Prepare various metallurgical testing samples by means of dimensioning, weighing, sectioning, and surface preparations
• Perform visual appearance and dimensioning evaluations on various tested metallurgical samples.
• Determine adherence to customer specifications by following written technical instructions
• Operation of various Physical Testing laboratory equipment (tensile frames, vacuum furnaces, air furnaces, and hardness machines)
• Perform basic laboratory calibration and verification tasks
• Use technical skills and background to identify problems and implement effective solutions
• Report accurate data to laboratory customers.
Basic Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced work environment, preferably in a manufacturing, chemical, quality, or industrial environment.
Preferences
• Associates Degree
• Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience in a metallurgical testing lab preferred
• Must be comfortable working with hazardous chemicals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong mechanical aptitude to support testing equipment
• Strong metallurgical destructive testing base of knowledge
• Must be able to interface with PLC and HMI systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information
• Ability to think creatively and strategically
• Ability to work with cross-functional groups
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Self-motivated
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs
