OverviewOverview:Training is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Instructor to support needs for the Training School. This position will report to the Chief of Training and play an integral role in the training and qualification of employees at the Quonset Point, RI and Groton, CT locations. This instructor position will be part of a team, responsible for the delivery of NDT training.Training is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Instructor to support needs for the Training School. This position will report to the Chief of Operations Training and play an integral role in the training and qualification of employees at the Quonset Point, RI and Groton, CT locations. This instructor position will be part of a team, responsible for the delivery of NDT training.Qualified candidates will have a strong sense of commitment to Safety and Procedure Compliance, be a self-starter, the ability to work independently and possess strong verbal & written communication skills. Candidates must also possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor and a desire to teach. Responsibilities & Duties - The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:
Instructing training sessions for various NDT methods that may include (VT, MT, PT, UT, ET & RT).
Directing and assessing hands on training with mockups and related exercises
Preparing for instruction all NDT classes by studying all curriculum
Enforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits
Assessing student performance & identifying nonconformance to policies, procedures and technical documents
Supporting various course content reviews and related activities
Conducting assessments & precertification exams as scheduled
Meeting with HR Business Partners regarding student performance as needed
Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics
Communicate with other Training shifts to advance work and communicate issues
Support the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned
Assessing student performance & identifying non-conformances to policies, technical documents, etc.
Supporting curriculum development efforts & providing input for curriculum updates, in conjunction with the curriculum development team
Observe work activities in production to validate alignment of work performance and training curriculum


Position is predominately onsite based with minimal remote work capability
Supporting special training projects as required
Occasional volunteer opportunities to support offsite training at EB Maintenance Facilities and Focus Factories

Work Schedule - The selected candidate will be expected to work the following work schedule:General 2nd shift hours (3:30pm - 12:00am) with flexibility to adjust hours to support 3rd shift and occasional 1st shift as necessary to support business need. Including short term training assignments on all shifts as needed
QualificationsRequirements:
3+ years' experience as an NDT Inspector; or 6+ years' experience in instructing adult learners in a technical background; or experienced with naval nuclear propulsion
Possess a High school diploma (minimum) - Associates degree or certificate - a plus
Must be able to maneuver throughout both the Quonset Point & Groton facilities and units to support all areas as required
Must be able to work the following shifts/hours:

Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Workforce Education and Development; Nuclear Engineering Technologies; Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) or Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT); or closely related field
Experience in delivering naval or shipyard training to adults
Willingness & flexibility to support training at offsite locations as needed

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills

Have a willingness and desire to learn and teach new courses and team members with a variety of leaning abilities
