About the Role: Teachers at Sagemont Preparatory School utilize our unique curriculum to help young students build a broad foundation of knowledge which they will build upon in our middle school program.
Job Description: The 3rd Grade teacher will instruct students in the essential skills across various subjects, including math, reading, writing, and social studies, preparing them for future academic success. Science is taught by a separate teacher.  This role demands a passionate educator who can inspire and motivate young learners while adhering to our curriculum that promotes analytical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning. Additionally, teachers at Sagemont Preparatory School inspire academic excellence through intellectual exploration, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Students are encouraged to take responsible risks and develop a deep understanding of social responsibility as active agents of change.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies that align with curriculum standards and state guidelines.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for learning.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate different learning styles, including digital tools and interactive activities.
Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing timely feedback and support to ensure continuous improvement.
Implement individualized instruction strategies to support diverse learners, including students with special needs and English language learners.
Encourage students to develop critical thinking and comprehension skills through discussions, projects, and assignments that promote deep understanding of content.
Develop and maintain a classroom environment that promotes a wide range of subjects and interests to cater to varied student abilities and preferences.
Collaborate with colleagues, including other subject teachers and support staff, to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress, share resources, and foster a collaborative approach to education.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in elementary education.
Organize and participate in school-wide events and initiatives, such as science fairs, history days, and math competitions, to promote a culture of learning within the school community.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
Valid teaching certification or be eligible to apply for one.
Previous experience teaching elementary students, preferably in 4th or 5th grade.
Strong understanding of pedagogy and curriculum development across multiple subjects.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
Ability to pass a background screening.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with differentiated instruction and classroom technology.
Familiarity with assessment tools and strategies across multiple subjects.
Ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
