Job Summary Job Responsibilities Responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget Follow written work instructions must maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS) Properly use required PPE  May participate in LEAN Events, "Six S" activities, action teams etc Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Analyze specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assemble parts to make and repair jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools, applying knowledge of tool designs and construction; shop mathematics; metal properties; and layout, machining, and assembly procedures     Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product Compute dimensions and plans layout and assembly operations Measure parts to close tolerance using precision measuring devices Set up and operate machine tools (e.g., lathe, milling machine and grinder) to machine parts Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications May examine standard or previously used tools or dies and modify as appropriate May develop specifications from general descriptions and make drawing or sketch Apply basic and develop advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization Determine sequence of operations and set up procedures for repeatable set-up Performs set-ups on a variety of CNC equipment with a general knowledge of Fanuc and Haas controls  Utilizes knowledge of CNC controls to set zero reference points, tool offsets, loads programs, Run production, monitoring parts to ensure accurate high quality parts are made safely and as efficiently Utilize the data collection system to accurately record production activities including time spent, quantity produced, and any rejected parts
Job Responsibilities Part II Qualifications High school diploma or GED Programming knowledge a plus Experience with CNC lathes a plus Experience using 3D modeling software (Solidworks preferred) a plus Must be able to read and understand blueprints and drawings, basic understanding of GD&T as well as the ability to work from verbal instructions. Must be able to use measuring equipment and gages to ensure produced part meets specification Understanding of safety, quality and continuous improvement expectations in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work in a team atmosphere. Willingness to work overtime to meet production demands.
