D.W. Clark casts engineered components for critical infrastructure and defense. We are seeking a skilled Welder with experience in welding various alloys including steel, austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, Monel, Copper Nickel, and Ni-Al-Bronze. The position will be welding and inspecting castings to ensure they meet the necessary quality standards. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SMAW and Lift-Arc Tig welding techniques and have a keen eye for detail.
The candidate applying for this position is someone who excels at working on new projects with a variety of both common and specialty alloys. They will have a strong work ethic and are motivated by producing high quality and efficient work. The capability to pass weld test qualifications is also necessary.
D.W. Clark casts components utilizing multiple casting processes, 3D printing, and machining. As part of our team supporting production and company growth, this position will be responsible for performing casting upgrade welds for commercial , aerospace, and defense projects.

Core Responsibilities

Welding for production and specialized projects using SMAW and Lift-Arc Tig techniques
Working to procedures and work instructions
Perform excavations and finishing using abrasive tools
Perform non-destructive examination of weld cavities and finished surfaces
Additional production support activities as needed

Requirements

High school or equivalent diploma
Ability to demonstrate capability in SMAW and/or GTAW welding
Minimum of 2 years experience in welding
Ability to set up equipment, set controls for welding
Ability to maintain traceability, part, and consumable identification at all times
Ability to manage consumables in accordance with required procedures
Ability to weld grades with control of reheat, interpass temperature, and post weld heat treating
Ability to grind to prep or finish the weld
Ability to check hardness of welds and Heat Affected Zone (HAZ).
Ability to produce a weld map
Capable of using carbon-arc cutting equipment
Metal casting or foundry experience is a plus
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and learn skills
Knowledge of basic welding codes and practice
Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment
Ability to lift, climb, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend and kneel
Able to meet job quality and productivity requirements
Well organized
Ability to perform additional tasks as assigned
Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety, quality and attendance

Casting terminology
Basic casting process
Weld consumables and alloys
Weld procedures for each alloy grade
Processing order for each alloy grade
Arc-air/grinding or other processing requirements for each alloy grade
Common quality requirements including Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)
Know the property requirements for the base metal, Heat Affected Zone (HAZ), and fusion zone
Basic metallurgy of alloy grades and weld metal
Safety requirements for each position in the area, any special hazards

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
