Active Secret clearance
Three (3) years of experience as a Technical Writer under the Department of Defense / Government umbrella
Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience)
Experience drafting and editing complex technical documentation to include contract deliverables, system training guides, and user manuals
Proficiency in creating, editing, and formatting documents in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe
Customer-focused and a self-starter

Desired Skills
Experience using automated deliverable tracking and submission tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Project or experience with other project schedule software
Prior military experience working with C4ISR systems or previous work experience supporting similar systems for the DOD
Knowledge / experience with DOD Policies & Procedures
Experience with drafting & editing proposals or technical documents for Test & Evaluation, Cybersecurity, Software, Logistics, Configuration Management, System Integration, Engineering, System Administrative Guides, Interactive User Manuals, Test Plans, or Test Reports

Description
Preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
Developing various technical and programmatic documents with support from subject matter experts and engineers
Ensuring technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets government specifications, and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style
Writing and editing technical documentation for hardware and software to include installation, configuration, and how-to documentation
Supporting white papers, proposal development, or other technical papers as needed
Supporting training documentation development to include slide presentations, user guides, and IETMs
