POSITION SUMMARY:

The PCB Designer will design moderate to complex printed circuit board layouts with analog, digital, power circuits and interconnect applications for use in avionic control panels.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Work closely with electrical design engineers and technical leads to create PCB schematic capture and layouts (component placement and routing) based upon physical and electrical design specifications
Create and/or modify PCB board outline, stack-up, and panelization characteristics in accordance with Electrical, Mechanical and Manufacturing design constraints
Provide feedback to design engineers as needed to ensure functionality and manufacturability of PCB designs
Suggest options when faced with challenging PCB design situations including resolutions to non-standard problems
Participate in design reviews, interface with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and process engineers to design proto-type and production quality printed circuit boards in accordance with IPC standards and procedures
Create fabrication and assembly drawings, BOM, incorporate changes to existing design documentation
Generate all outputs files required for the manufacture of the board and assembly
Act as the prime technical contact for the exchange of design information with PCB fabricators
Interfaces with PCB fabricators on DFM, quality related issues and pricing
Create schematic symbols and layout footprints for new electrical and electromechanical components for inclusion into the database library for use in schematic and layout activities
Maintain design file revision control throughout the design release process


JOB SKILLS REQUIRED:
 

Must have knowledge of signal integrity design constraints encompassing differential pairs, impedance control, EMC/EMI, and ESD
Must have the ability to communicate and cooperate with multiple engineering groups, Electrical, Mechanical and Manufacturing
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
 

BS in Electrical Engineering
Must have at least 3 years hands on printed circuit board design experience
Solid proficiency with Altium Designer Software, Cadence or similar PCB Design Tool required
