Optum Shoreline, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.
The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones.
Schedule:  This position is 40-hours per week. The schedule is Sunday between the hours 8:00 am to noon, Monday through Wednesday between the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Thursday between the hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm.  The schedule will be determined by the manger upon hire.
Location: 1201 N 175th Street, Shoreline, WA 98133
Primary Responsibilities:

Greet customers into the practice and provide instruction and/or direction as necessary both on the phone and in person
Schedule and coordinate all patient appointments as directed
Maintain an organized and clean work area, free of clutter
Prepare all documentation and records with accuracy as directed or necessary for the patient’s care
Meet or exceed the performance measures established by the Practice Management Dept.
Order and maintain the inventory, and stock in the area according to the policies and procedures established by the Practice Management Dept. and Central Supply
Follow establish policy and procedures related to the position
Participate and contribute in a team-based environment
Maintain a team supportive attendance record
Understand and deliver quality customer service that is consistent with the Polyclinic’s efforts in becoming a High Performance Organization
Follow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelines
Follow HIPAA regulations
Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations

High School Diploma/GED (or higher) 
1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication skills both in person and via phone
Ability to work on Sundays (weekends and holidays)

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ years of Microsoft Office experience
Experience working in the healthcare industry
Knowledge of medications and medical terminology
Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
1+ years of experience working in a medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records

Soft Skills: 

Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability 
Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers 
Strong organizational and time management skills 
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines 
Ability to be empathetic and kind towards patients
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
