About the Team This role reports up through a Team Lead to our Production and Service Manager - Weapons and Weapons Systems and forms part of our growing Weapons and Weapon Systems team. You will work alongside Technical Service Representatives, Fitter Amourers, Firing Tunnel Specialists and Integration and Commissioning Technician's. The role will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank. About the Role The Turret Assembly - Fitter/ Mechanic is responsible for the successful assembly of Turret systems in L400 Phase 2 Boxer vehicle and similar assemblies. The fitter/mechanic will ensure to complete the preassembly, assembly and inspection tasks in accordance with RDA manufacturing instructions, quality standards, and WH&S requirements. The general and generic duties of the Turret Assembly- Fitter Mechanic include, but are not limited to: Completing the Inspection and pre-assembly checks of Weapons Assembly and associated components prior to Integration; Complete Pre and Post shipment technical inspections of Weapons Assembly and associated components; assist with generating warranty/technical reports for stakeholders; Completing Weapon assembly and Acceptance Test Protocols IAW OEM requirements; Turret pre-assembly including but limited to Cradle, Barrel support, weapon housing and COAX soft mount; Turret assembly line; Technical drawing interpretation; Conduct Technical Inspection, Pre and Post fire servicing's; Complete Weapon system technical reports and assist Quality department investigations and reporting as required; Maintain the safe and efficient storage of required parts, tools and equipment in the workshop areas; Support the materials team to complete the movement, delivery, and inspection of parts and consumables; Complete work as required from time to time at other facilities including at the sites of RDA customers and suppliers; Conduct self and work in accordance with company and site specific WH&S requirements; and Other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your manager from time to time.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: Minimum trade qualified fitter and turner (Cert III Engineering - Mechanical or equivalent); Armourer experience and/or qualifications; The ability to provide technical leadership to a multi-trade team integrating functions including mechanical and electrical assembly, commissioning and testing; Availability to travel overseas for required systems training and support of build events in Germany for minimum 3 months consecutive period; The ability to gain security clearance commensurate to Australian Defence Force base access; Willingness to participate and contribute as part of a team; and Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
