Date Posted:2023-06-07Country:United States of AmericaLocation:HND01: Interiors (Cargo) - Jamestown 2604 Highway 20 North, Jamestown, ND, 58401 USAPosition Role Type:OnsiteLevel II Nondestructive Technician/Inspector will independently perform inspections utilizing magnetic particle and penetrant testing techniques seeking corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions in accordance with technical data. They will perform inspections, interpret indications, and report results per company requirements. The NDT Inspector will be able to communicate processes, procedures, report results and be familiar with shop equipment operation with the ability to evaluate and exercise appropriate judgment.Primary Responsibilities:
Performs non-nondestructive testing (penetrant and magnetic particle) based on qualifications
Conducts system performance checks in accordance with customer standards
Performs cleaning and inspection of aircraft components according to customers specifications.
Identifies structural and material defects
Interprets test results
Completes test reports, and presents findings
Maintains NDT equipment
Maintains proper segregation and identification of components in progress.
Completes all required documentation in accordance with established procedures.
Engages and supports the organization's Continuous Improvement activities.
Demonstrate a continued interest in good housekeeping and safety practices.
Demonstrate ability to work under a minimal amount of direction for the area supervisor/team coordinator.
Be proficient in handling all the equipment that is applicable to completing the required job
Demonstrate an ability to effectively cooperate and communicate with co-workers and personnel in other departments.
Capable of interpreting and understanding part drawings and illustrated planning.
Must be able to follow work instructions to ensure the proper processing of parts.
Must have some basic computer skills.
Must be able properly wear and use Personal Protective Equipment relating to the job performed.
Basic Qualifications:
HS diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience is required.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
NAS410 experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to set up and utilize calibrating testing equipment, conducting material tests, interpreting results, and generating reports on your findings
Strong attention to detail
Ability to write descriptive statements about noted conditions while performing inspections.
Ability to articulate and understand verbal and written instructions.
Possess the ability to evaluate his/her work and exercise sound judgment
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
