Adheres to polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school and be a licensed State of Connecticut Registered Nurse. Proficient in cardiac monitoring and be certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. COMPETENCIES: Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record. Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations. Demonstrated knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Participates in in-office procedures, as related to clinic specialty, under the direction and supervision of a Physician or APP and documents results in EHR. Accurately completes necessary documentation of all aspects of the nursing process on an ongoing basis, in a timely manner, as per departmental policy and regularly acts as a resource to others regarding documentation issues. Oversees office Coumadin clinic. Educates patient / family regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness. Anticipates situations and takes action to prevent or minimize a negative outcome while demonstrating the ability to organize and delegate appropraiately in an emergenc in a calm efficient manner. Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Appropriately delegates duties and tasks to team members, developing opportunities to promote growth of subordinates and/or peers. May be required to perform other duties as requested by Management.
