The Physical Therapist provides services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. The PT also examines patient's medical history, evaluates their physical abilities, determines their potential to respond to therapy, and develops treatment plans. Hours: PRN, as needed.
The Physical Therapist provides services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. The PT also examines patient's medical history, evaluates their physical abilities, determines their potential to respond to therapy, and develops treatment plans. Conducts therapy practice within defined standards of care.
Documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans in accordance with Hospital requirements and established guidelines. Coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to support staff.
Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
Two years direct patient physical therapy care and treatment experience preferred.
Experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.
Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS.
Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and utilizes proper policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for patients.
Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards.
Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:
Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.
Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
