TRAVEL - RN - L&D (705) - Birth Care Center - Wesley MC - 7A - 7P Hospital: Wesley Medical Center - LD (705) Location: Birth Care Suites (BCS) Address: 3222 E. Murdock Wichita, KS Floor: Unit: 70510 Building: 6 General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Unit Specifics: · Number of Beds - : 20 LDRP, 2 operating rooms Number of Staff – Type of staff: Day Shift – ( example 1 charge, 3 RN, 2 CNA, and 1-3 sitters) Night Shift - · Patient Ratios – : 1-2:1 labor, 3-4:1 postpartum · Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): RN, CST nights, ACT (separate lactation RN team to support breastfeeding) · Type of equipment - : GE fetal monitor, Monica Novii, alaris pumps · EMR - Documentation system: 3 days/nights (all twelve-hour shifts) · Floating policy: float within Women’s units as needed · Patient Experience requirements: Nurse leader rounding is performed daily to ensure our patients are receiving great care. Utilize bedside shift report, communication boards, and rounding. Hospital Specifics- · Certifications: Typical hiring Hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters) Requested Skill Set: labor, delivery and postpartum care Must have : candidates without these BLS, NRP, ACLS, and IFMC Advanced skills will not be considered for the role. needed: OR Circulating, labor positioning/Spinning babies experience, managing OB emergencies Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first. List typical procedures Procedures performed on unit (s): : vaginal deliveries, cesarean section, NSTs, circumcisions Best personality Fit: Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, ACLS, IFMC Dress Code : (Required uniform) · Burgundy/maroon scrubs Unit Guidelines/Policies : Please feel free to attach unit specific policies and guidelines . · Please include anything that you would like prospective candidates to be aware of, such as, links to videos that feature the department, outstanding department/team awards.. · Any additional information that would entice a wor ker to select your unit for their assignment: Consider items such as new equipment or technology, tenure and experience of staff, schedule options, etc. * Remember it is a very competitive market any information you can provide will help attract talent . The Birth Care Suites is a separate building across the street from the main hospital (there is a tunnel to transport patients). Patients must be 37wga and meet low risk criteria to deliver at BCS. We value 1:1 labor support and active positioning/management of labor. Our patients value the birthing center experience (less hospital-feel) and appreciate the continuity of care with their nurse from labor to postpartum care. We are a teaching hospital so we work with residents. We have a dedicated anesthesia team that only covers women’s services. We have a Hospitalist available 24/7 to respond for oversight and emergencies if needed. We typically deliver 110-130 babies per month at BCS (for a hospital total of 450-500/month).
