* One year of hospice or home health nursing experience preferred.
* Working knowledge of and the ability to apply the basic principles and techniques of nursing care to the hospice setting.
* Must possess good clinical nursing skills and be able to utilize problem-solving teachings.
* Ability to record and maintain patient data using an electronic record keeping system (EMR).
* Knowledge of pain and symptom management.
* Ability to function in high stress situations and manage multiple priorities.
* Emotional maturity to cope with the ongoing needs of participating in a hospice program.
* Ability to regularly walk bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, grasp, reach, handle, and lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
* Current CPR certification required.
* Must have current Oregon driver’s license, dependable transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance. *Responsibilities:*
* Provide direct nursing care as indicated by the plan of care under the supervision of RNCM
* Participate in the planning and coordination of patient care
* Administers prescribed meds according to law as permitted within the scope of individual license
* Provide patient/caregiver teaching as appropriate
* Provide physical and emotional support to the patient/family in the terminal phases of life
* Demonstrate respect and caring and maintains patient and staff confidentiality
* Assess patient/family general physical and mental condition with the assigned RN Case Manager
* Assists with provision of in- home respite and/or continuous care as patient need arises
* Assist patient with activities of daily living and encouraging appropriate self-care
* Documents according to established agency guidelines and nursing practice standards
* Instruct family or caregivers in caring for the patient as directed
